The Psychology of Flowers - w/ Ariella Chezar + Leslie Jonath
Join us July 8th and 9th on Nantucket to explore floral design with Ariella Chezar, the psychology of flowers with Hafsa Lewis, and the art of storytelling with Leslie Jonath.
Created by Hafsa Lewis of Hafsa & Co., hosted at Melinda Puljic ‘s (Fleur Nantucket) stunning flower farm and gathering space.
DAY ONE: Flowers as an Experience
An introduction to “The Psychology of Flowers” with Hafsa Lewis.
Hands-on floral design and tutelage with Ariella Chezar.
Guests will learn Ariella’s approach to composition, movement, and seasonality. The day includes demonstration, guided design, and a deeper look at how florals shape atmosphere, gatherings, and lived experience. Flowers will be sourced from Melinda’s on-site garden, and attendees will work directly with locally grown, seasonal blooms.
DAY TWO: From Creation to Story
If Day One is about creating with your hands, Day Two is about giving that creation a voice.
Led by Leslie Jonath, the whole day is a deep dive into concept, narrative, and the art of shaping ideas into tangible work. With decades of experience as both an editor at Chronicle Books and a literary agent at Connected Dots Media, Leslie has guided some of the most beautiful creative projects from idea to publication, including her work with Ariella on all four of her books, Floret Flowers, and on what became Hafsa’s Lewis book, Flower Therapy, coming Spring 2028.
Leslie will take you inside the storytelling process, exploring how ideas evolve into newsletters, Substacks, book proposals, and fully realized bodies of work. Together, you will unpack narrative arc, learn how to differentiate and refine your ideas, and begin shaping your own creative concept with clarity and intention.
This is not just about writing; it’s about understanding your voice, your perspective, and the story only you can tell. Participants will leave with the beginnings of something real: a concept, a direction, a framework to build upon.
While each day of this retreat can stand on its own, experiencing both creates a powerful full-circle moment: from creating with flowers to articulating their meaning, from intuition to expression, from experience to story. This is where your ideas take form.
Please choose from the drop-down.
Both days - $2,600
Day One - Ariella - $1,950
Day Two - Leslie - $950
Ticket prices include coffee, breakfast, and lunch from Lemon Press
